Google Earth

We love Google Earth! It is free to download and gives you a birds-eye view of the whole world.

Maps

Most homeschool unit studies end up needing maps! (Or maybe we just really like maps at our house. )

Google Maps
There is a new feature of Google Maps called MyMaps. This allows you to personalize a map with points, text, and lines. This is great for showing the path a book character has traveled, the route of settlers, the way an idea has spread through history... The possibilities seem endless! If you log in with your Google account, you can create a link to your map from your digital lapbook.

If you are looking for printable maps or lesson plans on geography, check out National Geographic Xpeditions.
